Macro Map Generator
Generate large-scale climate delta maps for entire countries, regions, and cities across Europe. Unlike the standard Map Generator which operates at site level with satellite imagery, the Macro Map Generator works at administrative boundary level using interpolated weather station data to produce territorial-scale climate visualizations. Select one or more administrative boundaries — countries, regions, or cities — from a hierarchical European catalog with search functionality. Choose the Temperature Delta map type, which compares the 1961-1990 climatological baseline with the 2023-2025 average to reveal warming and cooling patterns: blue areas indicate temperature decreases, red areas show warming, and white areas represent no significant change. The system generates maps asynchronously and delivers results as GeoTIFF files, ready for import into QGIS, ArcGIS, or any GIS software. You can combine multiple territories in a single generation for cross-boundary comparisons — for example, generating a combined map for several regions or even multiple countries simultaneously. Each generation costs 3 credits. On signup you receive 10 free credits with no credit card required.
Who Uses This Tool
Professionals who rely on this analysis
Environmental Consultant
Generate regional climate delta maps for Environmental Impact Assessments and territorial planning reports. Compare temperature changes across multiple administrative areas and include GeoTIFF outputs in GIS-based analyses.
ESG / Sustainability Manager
Visualize temperature change trends at country and regional level for CSRD/ESRS E1 climate risk disclosures. Use macro-scale maps to contextualize site-level assessments within broader territorial climate shifts.
Urban Planner / Researcher
Analyze city-level temperature deltas to inform urban heat mitigation strategies. Compare warming patterns across cities and regions to prioritize green infrastructure investments and climate adaptation planning.
What you can do
How it works
Select boundaries
Choose one or more administrative boundaries from the European catalog — countries, regions, or cities. Use the search bar to quickly find territories or browse the hierarchical selector.
Choose the map type
Select the climate delta map type to generate. The Temperature Delta map compares the 1961-1990 baseline with 2023-2025 averages, showing warming and cooling patterns across the selected territories.
Download results
The system generates the macro map asynchronously. Once ready, download the GeoTIFF file for use in GIS software or view the results directly in the interactive preview. Each generation costs 3 credits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about this tool
1What is the Macro Map Generator?
The Macro Map Generator creates large-scale climate maps for entire countries, regions, or cities. Unlike the standard Map Generator which works at site level with satellite imagery, this tool handles regional to continental scale analysis using interpolated weather station data.
2What does the Temperature Delta map show?
It shows how temperatures have changed between the 1961-1990 reference period and the 2023-2025 average. Blue areas indicate cooling, red areas indicate warming, and white areas show no significant change. The data is interpolated from European weather station records.
3Can I select multiple regions at once?
Yes, you can select multiple countries, regions, or cities in a single generation. For example, you can generate a combined map for Lombardia, Piemonte, and Veneto, or even multiple countries like Italy and France together.
4How much does it cost?
Each macro map generation costs 3 credits. On signup you receive 10 free credits with no credit card required. Additional credit packages are available from the Credits page starting at €19.90.
