National GDP per capita, gridded to roughly 10 km (~5 arc-minutes) and referenced to the year 2015. It is drawn from the GRIDDED_HDI_GDP dataset on Google Earth Engine (PPP_2015 band), which distributes World Bank purchasing-power-parity (PPP) estimates over a raster grid. Values are expressed in USD PPP and rendered on a light-to-dark green gradient (0 to 80,000 USD): darker greens indicate higher per-capita economic output, so the layer gives a coarse read of the national wealth context around the area of interest.
The layer shows national GDP per capita as a raster surface at roughly 10 km resolution. The source is the GRIDDED_HDI_GDP collection on Google Earth Engine, asset projects/sat-io/open-datasets/GRIDDED_HDI_GDP/adm0_gdp_perCapita_1990_2022, which grids per-country GDP-per-capita values based on World Bank purchasing-power-parity (PPP) estimates. The layer is not time-dependent: it uses the PPP_2015 band (the most recent reliable reference year), with values in USD PPP.
| Code | Provider | Resolution | Year |
|---|---|---|---|
| GRIDDED_HDI_GDP (band PPP_2015) | World Bank PPP estimates, via ResourceWatch / sat-io on Google Earth Engine | ~10 km (~5 arc-minutes) | 2015 |
The PPP_2015 band is clipped to the area of interest, read from Earth Engine at a scale of 10,000 m and reprojected to Web Mercator; no-data and pixels outside the polygon are masked. Values are rendered on a continuous light-to-dark green colormap linearly normalized between 0 and 80,000 USD PPP, and minimum, maximum and mean GDP per capita are computed over the area.
