The Biodiversity Intactness Index (BII) estimates how much of a location's original biodiversity remains relative to an undisturbed baseline community. Each pixel carries a value between 0 (completely altered) and 1 (intact), so it captures the cumulative impact of land use and human pressure on local ecological communities.
| Code | Provider | Resolution | Year |
|---|---|---|---|
| WRD_BII_01 | Impact Observatory / Vizzuality (GEE Community Catalog, PREDICTS database) | 100 m | 2017-2020 |
The BII image collection (projects/ebx-data/assets/earthblox/IO/BIOINTACT, band BioIntactness) is reduced to its mean composite over 2017-2020, clipped to the area of interest and resampled to a 100 m grid in Web Mercator. Per-polygon minimum, maximum and mean intactness are then computed, and the raster is rendered with a red-to-green gradient from low to high intactness.
