The Gridded GDP layer represents the spatial distribution of total economic output (Gross Domestic Product) across the area of interest, in millions of USD at Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). It provides a coarse socioeconomic context useful for interpreting land use and human pressure around a site.

Values are read from the Gridded HDI/GDP dataset (GEE asset projects/sat-io/open-datasets/GRIDDED_HDI_GDP/total_gdp_perCapita_1990_2022_5arcmin), band PPP_2015, which is derived from national accounts and sub-national GDP estimates at a native resolution of about 5 arc-minutes. The image is clipped to the polygon and sampled at a scale of 10 km; per-cell minimum, maximum and mean GDP are computed over the valid (unmasked) pixels within the geometry.
